In January 2021, KAAGNY was selected by the 2020 Korean Associations of the World Conference for the Best Presentation Award, which gave recognition to the work KAAGNY has conducted in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
"KAAGNY has been selected for this award for their role in the development of their local Korean community,” the Overseas Koreans Foundation said. “It is an organization that leads by example and takes great effort in building up the community.”
Hosted by the Overseas Koreans Foundation (Chairman Sung Gon Kim), the Korean Associations of the World Conference is an annual event that invites leaders of organizations representing Korean communities all over the globe to South Korea. The Conference aims to foster stronger relations between and to develop local Korean communities and the broader Korean diaspora. At the 2020 Conference held from December 1 to 3, selected participants presented their local activities during the pandemic, including their support for underserved communities. (The Conference was held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19.)
