City Council Candidate John Choe Visits KAAGNY

On November 11, Executive Director John Choe of the Flushing Chamber of Commerce visited KAAGNY headquarters to meet with President Charles Yoon.

During their meeting, Director Choe shared his plans to run for local elected office. He shared that he will be running for New York City Council to represent District 20. Choe’s campaign advocates for inclusion and language access, community and housing development, supporting small businesses, civil rights and immigration, affordable housing, safe streets, and addressing overcrowded schools.

John Choe previously served as the Chief of Staff for State Senator John Liu when Liu served as a New York City Councilman. In 2014, Choe served as the executive director of One Flushing, a project gathering economic data on small businesses and building community education and outreach. Choe attended SUNY Binghamton and went on to earn his Masters degree in public policy at the University of Chicago.
