KAAGNY & KA Vote Host Trot Concert to Promote Voter Registration

On October 16, KAAGNY (in collaboration with KAVote.org and funded by the Naeil Foundation) hosted a Trot Concert to promote Census participation and voter registration for the 2020 Elections.

Junghi Kim of the Korean Traditional Folk Song Association and Daniel Kim, who placed second during the Korea Week Trot Competition, gave a series of Trot performances that were streamed to viewers via Zoom and YouTube.

During the Concert, remarks were delivered by Jenny Kim (Korean American Coalition National), Dong Chan Kim (Korean American Civic Empowerment), Judy Yoo (Federation of Korean American Associations of Northeastern USA), and Kapsong Kim (MinKwon Center).

The speakers encouraged the viewers, many of whom are native Korean speakers, to register to vote in the upcoming Elections and to play their part in raising Korean American voices in the civil process.

Funded by the Naeil FoundationKAVote is a non-partisan nationwide Task Force working to increase Korean American participation in the 2020 Census and the Elections, which are the pillars of civic engagement and democracy. The purpose of the Task Force is to ensure Korean American representation by being properly counted and heard.
